Speak no Evil, See no Evil, Hear no Evil. 🙈🙊🙉

The Japanese „Three Wise Monkeys“ are often decepted as an metaphor of good mind, speech and action. 2020 has been a tough one. Maybe the toughest one so far in some of our lives. But aren‘t the toughest times the ones we learn the most from.
As a journalist, it‘s deeply embedded in my body and mind to never keep my eyes and ears closed off to the things going on in the world, to raise my voice when necessary and to educate those who are still in the dark.
Staying silent and looking away is something we need to stop doing, and instead step into the world with broad shoulders and high heads, ready to listen and learn from those less fortunate.
And as our horizon grows, we should spread the knowledge further, in order to make this world a better place for everybody.
Because in the end we‘re all teachers to those who surround us, to those we bring into this world ourselves and the many generations after.
We have come far but we can take this a lot further. Let‘s be the ones who teach that good mind, good speech and good action are the way to go.

Colour Match. ✨

The thing I‘ve always loved most about my body was the intense blue colour of my eyes. Not only because it‘s the colour of the sea but because I inherited it from my maternal grandfather I sadly never got to meet.

My body image used to be horrible when I was younger but this tiny feature of mine helped me realise that everything my body is is a reflection of my family history and therefore an essential part of who I am.

And now that I‘m in my mid-twenties, having grown into a person I never thought I could be, I look at myself and wouldn‘t change a thing. (at Graz, Austria)

What Matters? ⭐️

If I‘ve learned anything in the last couple months that were so strange and terrifying, it‘s that really nothing in life matters as much as the love we have for those closest to us and the various ways we can show our affection.

When staying away equals a hug.
When staying inside equals a kiss on the forehead.
And when hour long calls suddenly mean „I love you“.

Now that I finally get to see all those people again who‘ve made me into the person I am today, I feel like the love I have for them has exponentially grown. And I‘m even more grateful for what I was given.

A life full of love and never ending opportunities of really making a change. ✨ (at Graz, Austria)

Nah I‘m kidding, one thing I‘ve learned the last couple of quarantine week is that I really get all dressed and done for myself. It makes me feel better, makes me feel like I still have a normal routine and I just love using this time to play around with makeup and hair even more because I barely have time to do that on a normal work schedule.

Quarantine has been hard and I‘ve felt like running against a wall more than once but I love how much time I have to really take care of myself.

Nothing beats the sweats and yoga pants though let‘s be real 🙈 (at Graz, Austria)

One day we‘re gonna tell our kids about that strange spring back in 2020 when we suddenly had to lock ourselves up in our homes in order to save the lives of a pretty large amount of people.

And we will them about how after more than a month, it started to pay off. We‘re getting there. Slowly but surely. ☁️ (at Graz, Austria)

NEW BLOGPOST | Breaking the Distance. ⚡️

Today it‘s been exactly a month since my country shut down and we all had to start to distance us from each other.

During quarantine, I‘ve had a lot of time to think about the „After“, and what we could learn from being secluded from our loved ones to keep each other safe.

I wrote my thoughts down in a new blogpost, the link‘s in my bio. I‘ve also added a few tips how to not lose hope (including a spotify playlist with songs that make you look forward to the future) ✨

What do you think we can learn from this crisis? (at Graz, Austria)
